Personal Testimony

My experience with the Lord in the local churches didn't come until our family crisis. Even though I was saved in October 1989 and was in the local church, I didn't really know how to enjoy Christ as my life because I was so attached to the worldly things around me. My real enjoyment of the Lord didn't come until we had a family crisis in 1996. At that time, everything changed. I realized there was nothing in the world that is a sure thing and real. Everything is just vanity (Eccl. 1:2)! I was feeling loneliness and emptiness because of a lack of security, love, and peace.

After our family was helped by the elders in the local church, it remained in the local church. So, why are we so deeply connected to the local church? Because in the local church we experience and enjoy Christ. He is love, peace, light and life to me. Within the local church I enjoy Christ as my everything in life and enjoy the marvelous fellowship among the believers. The atmosphere is so loving and peaceful. I love Christ and local church as well as brothers in the other local churches because we are all members of the Body and we are deeply connected (Romans 12:4-5). I really feel it is the Lord's grace and mercy that He put our family under His shepherding so we will not get lost in the world.

Another thing that I really appreciate is the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. Their ministry helps me to see the truths in the Bible. I think the greatest truth is that God became a man, so we could have His life and partake of His nature to express Him and be one with Him (John 20:31; 2 Peter 1:4). This is most marvelous truth in the whole universe to me.
